Cable Suspended Frame The frame is an attempt to minimize structure and uses steel angle, flat bar, maple, a steel bushing for a true pivot pin, purpleheart, and 1/8” steel cable.
The joint is a true pivot point in order to force true compression & tension in the members, at least in the horizontal and the tension members. The vertical member has bending introduced because of its attachment to the wall system being in points other than the connection points for the horizontal and diagonal members.
The front sheet of glass is 1/8” clear while the back sheet is 1/4” blue tinted to compliment the blue sky of the Coliseum photograph.
The photograph is 20x30 and is attached to the back sheet of glass with 2 dots of clear silicone |
