A collaborative project by Mike Calvino & JJ Watts. The focal element of the contemplative garden is a free-form sculpture by JJ Watts. The piece provides a central work that provokes thought and stimulates the imagination. The garden is then designed to create 4 different zones that all focus or offer framed views of the sculpture. Also, the elements of each zone of the garden are placed in such a way as to offer framed & screened views of the garden itself as well as the sculptural element from each of the windows of the labs/offices. The idea is to provide a moment's release for the mind, to offer a thoughtful glance into another world, something to allow the mind to shift and perhaps provide that much needed, shifted perspective of one's work . . . of research . . . of life.
