Design charge: The use of the space: Large meetings up to 18 people, small conferences down to 2 people. Used for slide presentations, parties, & buffets.
Materials:
Steel - the solid, essential foundation . . defining the form.
Wood - solid, 8/4 hard white maple . . . natural, warm material with a shimmering grain providing scale & depth to the surface touched by the user.
Glass - 1/2" thick flat polished edges . . . etched, free-form pattern to relieve the rigid orthogonality of the purely functional steel allowing transparency into the structure.
Construction: a pair of golden sections, each a separate table on wheels & each folding longitudinally to create a long, narrow buffet table or storable against a wall.
