|
The twisted glass walls break up the monotony of the rectilinear and make the space feel larger because the two twisted walls read as objects within a larger space. The amount of twist and the size of the glass lites is governed by the prestress induced by the bend in the glazing. The prestress plus the windload stress cannot exceed the allowable and the force to prestress had to be such that I could bend it into place, clamp it, then secure it with the caps & screws while keeping it all aligned; and quickly enough to prevent the silicone bead from skinning over prior to completing the install. |
